Vehicle Loop Detector for Automatic Gate Openers
This loop detector is compatible with all of our automatic gate openers and provides a convenient way to automatically open or close your gate as your vehicle approaches.
The system uses a rectangular wire loop measuring approximately 3 m wide by 1 m long, installed underground. The supplied loop wire is wound four turns within a 40 mm conduit enclosure before being buried. If you have an existing concrete driveway, simply cut a slot approximately 50 mm wide and 40 mm deep using a concrete saw, install the four-turn loop, and seal the cut with a suitable concrete sealant.
The two ends of the loop wire are connected to the loop detector controller, which is typically mounted near the gate opener.
The loop can be installed up to 50 metres before the gate, allowing the gate to begin opening before your vehicle reaches it. This distance can be adjusted to suit your driveway length and vehicle speed. In most applications, the loop detector is used for gate opening only, as our gate openers include an adjustable automatic closing function, eliminating the need for a separate closing loop.
The system operates by detecting the presence of a large metal object, such as a vehicle, above the buried loop. When a vehicle is detected, the loop controller sends a signal to the gate opener to activate the gate.

This is a simple and reliable way to automate gate access. The system can also be combined with our timer controls to enable or disable loop operation during specific times of the day or on selected days of the week.
